Pray for Gray

Right now I should be at church.
Ben had already made plans to put a storm door on for my parents this morning.
I had made plans to take the kids to church myself.
Plans changed.
For me and the kids at least.
I woke up early this morning with my stomach feeling less than agreeable.
So, right now Ben it at my mom and dad's
and I am listening to the kids play in the backyard, while I type on the keyboard.

I love the sound of Grace and Colt playing together.
I remember before Colt, Grace would play outside by herself for hours.
She would sing and talk to herself the entire time.
Both of our neighbors on either side would comment on how they would peek to see who she was talking to, but it would just be Grace enjoying the company of herself.

I'm grateful she has a built in playmate now.
A friend for life.

As I think about how blessed I am, with where I'm at, and with what I have,
I also think about where others are.
This morning my heart is heavy for a friends child.
A sweet boy, just about Colt's age, who is fighting for his life right now.
I think about his mama, his daddy, his big brother.

If you take the time to read this, then I ask that you would take the time to go here:

Maybe even leave a comment to let them know they are not alone.
That we do remember them, where they are at, and what they have to go through.
No matter what your plans are today, or how they may change, please take the time today to pray for Gray and for his family.

County Fair

Last weekend we took the kids to the free county fair. It's always fun to look at the exhibits, ride some rides, and of course eat some really yummy food. This year was no exception and maybe even more fun since both of the kids are getting old enough to really enjoy all of it.

Here are Grace and Colt waiting to ride the cars. Colt was clearly just at the right height to get to ride.

If Colt was excited to be riding then he certainly kept his enthusiasm on the inside. haha. He didn't act afraid at all, just bored. Grace meanwhile has had her eye on the "big kid" rides since she was three. Again this year she had to check to see if she was tall enough. -Not yet, but soon. She was still happy to go on the little rides just the same.

Here is Colt stuffed with corn dogs, Lemon aid, snow cones, and Ben's favorite, funnel cake. Thankfully Ben had the good sense to feed the kids after the rides. :)

The big fun at the fair this year was getting to ride the horses. This one both of the kids loved! The lady who owns the horses was even nice enough to let Grace ride again for free.

We had a really great family day and I can't think of a better way to welcome fall then with the fair!
